UPDATE: t street, you're getting speed humps (i think)

on my way to trinity to check out the mcmillan site meeting tonight, i noticed stripes spray-painted across the unit block of t street in 3 places (near the ends and the middle of the block). the odd thing is that they weren't perpendicular to the curb, but at a slight angle (check out the second picture below to get the best feel for this).

either way, it looks like the racetrack that is the unit block of t street northwest is finally going to get something to slow those cars down.




UPDATE:

like 'tp' said in the comments, they did put the speed humps in yesterday. of course, the city didn't take the time to move the cars out of the way (or even warn people not to park there for the day), so they half-assed it and didn't run these speed-control devices all the way to the gutter. if there are no cars parked to one side, get ready to watch cars swerve around to avoid the speed hump. good job, ddot.

    1) That is probably not the best spot on the block to be standing 2) They did this once before, around the same time they did seaton, but nothing ever happened, I guess we'll see

    So how long did it take for DDOT to react and acknowledge that they were indeed needed there? We've been waiitng over a year for speed bumps/humps on the straight awat known as the 200 block of N Strete NW. /Rob

    I guess the alley is a bit of a hazzard, but there are normally a few shady people hanging out there. As far as the speed bumps, when I left home this morning they had crews out there working on the humps, but they had a few vehicles in the way so I'm not sure how far they got.

    well they put them in today.. the thing is some cars were in the way so instead of 1. putting no parking signs up, or 2. having the cars moved, they chose 3. smaller humps.

    Well, we are the unit block of T st, we are a lost cause. So worthless, cab drivers don't bother to learn where it is. I think Bloomingdale should concider changeing it's name to the Bermuda Triangle, because things just have a tendency of getting lost or going haywire here. Maybe we can get a city wide theme going with Trinidad and Bermuda?
