they're working on rebuilding the house. of course, it isn't going to be the original construction, but it's good to see this isn't going to sit and be a blight on the neighborhood for years. i have a question, though, if anyone can answer it for me. do you remember how tall this house used to be? because the new construction seems kind of short. am i remembering things incorrectly?

construction at florida and 6th
remember this terrible accident last year at 6th and florida? a couple people got killed when a crazy in his SUV ran them over, then the SUV proceeded to take out a beautiful rowhouse right in front of the ledroit park gate. well, the last few days i've noticed this:

it was definitely taller. at least it seems that way. i used to drive by that place a lot, back in the day...

looks like it's going to be about 3 feet shorter. wonder why?
ReplyDeleteand, that's a historic district, right? so don't they have to make every attempt to rebuild to previous dimensions?
