construction at florida and 6th

remember this terrible accident last year at 6th and florida? a couple people got killed when a crazy in his SUV ran them over, then the SUV proceeded to take out a beautiful rowhouse right in front of the ledroit park gate. well, the last few days i've noticed this:

they're working on rebuilding the house. of course, it isn't going to be the original construction, but it's good to see this isn't going to sit and be a blight on the neighborhood for years. i have a question, though, if anyone can answer it for me. do you remember how tall this house used to be? because the new construction seems kind of short. am i remembering things incorrectly?

  3. looks like it's going to be about 3 feet shorter. wonder why?

and, that's a historic district, right? so don't they have to make every attempt to rebuild to previous dimensions?

anyway, thanks for the picture, sir!

you don't have to use your real name, you can use a pseudonym, but it would be preferable if you don't just post anonymously. in order to carry on a conversation, for everyone's benefit, it would be nice to know who we're talking to.
