watha t. daniel-shaw library construction update

here's what the construction at the watha t. daniel-shaw library looks like right now. it's a hole in the ground, sure, but it's progress!

eventually, there's supposed to be a live construction camera here. nothing exists for this project yet, but you can look at other DCPL construction projects around the city.

  1. It is still unbelievable that 7 months after the "groundbreaking", this is all that has happened. Expect a Fall 2010 opening, rather than the Spring 2010 opening as promised. Everything moves slower in Shaw- I didn't wanna believe it, but it's true.

  2. Given the economy and slowdown in funding, its remarkable that the mayor is getting these projects done. it is a fabulous resource for the children of the shaw neighborhood and it is going to be beautiful!!! thanks to mayor fenty and the dc council.

you don't have to use your real name, you can use a pseudonym, but it would be preferable if you don't just post anonymously. in order to carry on a conversation, for everyone's benefit, it would be nice to know who we're talking to.
