national marathon in the neighborhood

here are a couple of photos that i took while watching the national marathon runners on north capitol street saturday morning. i saw mayor fenty, but the picture i took didn't come out well. guess i'll have to try again next year!

    Yay! I ran the half-marathon that day and was very proud to run through my own neighborhood!

    Imagine how cool it would be if N. Cap. were at its original level and all the well-wishers could stand out on the curb waving, cheering, handing out water, etc. Instead, we have photos of people running through what amounts to an open tunnel. Too bad someone thought it was progress to tear up N. Cap.

you don't have to use your real name, you can use a pseudonym, but it would be preferable if you don't just post anonymously. in order to carry on a conversation, for everyone's benefit, it would be nice to know who we're talking to.
