more useless traffic knowledge!

they activated the crosswalk signals at 6th and rhode island tonight. they weren't on when i came home from work around 5:45, but they were on when i biked back downtown at 7:00. there was a van parked on the corner from some 'traffic solutions company' or something like that.

but the interesting thing was the accident! oh boy, the accident. i didn't have time to stop and see what had happened, but there was a car sitting on the median on the east side of the intersection, and another car down at the corner of rhode island, r, and marion. there were police on horseback and car debris all over. looks like it was a fun smash-up. anyone know what happened?
