progress at 440 rhode island avenue nw

i've written about this lot here, here, and here. check out the progress on the new apartment building going up there. i'll have better shots by this weekend, but thought people might be interested in seeing actual building progress in this down economy. i like the fancier-than-normal cinder block going up on the side of the building.

this photo was taken looking towards the corner of new jersey and rhode island.

here's that decorative block.

Do you have any details for this project? Is there any website for it (I found an old one from Nichol Development with very little detail on it, but I don't know if they're still the developers)?

I'm glad to see a not so prime location (between liquor store and gas station) lot being developed.

I would have thought retail would have made more sense especially on a business RI Ave. But I guess its better than the vacant lot that was there for years.
