watha t. daniel-shaw library construction update

here's what the construction at the watha t. daniel-shaw library looks like right now. it's a hole in the ground, sure, but it's progress!

eventually, there's supposed to be a live construction camera here. nothing exists for this project yet, but you can look at other DCPL construction projects around the city.

It is still unbelievable that 7 months after the "groundbreaking", this is all that has happened. Expect a Fall 2010 opening, rather than the Spring 2010 opening as promised. Everything moves slower in Shaw- I didn't wanna believe it, but it's true.

Given the economy and slowdown in funding, its remarkable that the mayor is getting these projects done. it is a fabulous resource for the children of the shaw neighborhood and it is going to be beautiful!!! thanks to mayor fenty and the dc council.
