ward 5 school board election—typo
robert brannum is vice-president of the bloomingdale civic association and is running against mark jones for the ward 5 seat on the school board. both have placed a lot of signs up around the neighborhood, but there's something notable about mr. brannum's signs. take a look at the close-up below, and take note of the spelling of 'positive'. at least it was fixed, but i feel bad for whomever had to use that red marker on every one of his signs. that must have been tedious.

1. Yes, the posters were printed with a word incorrectly spelled.
2. No, the posters were not posted with a word incorrectly spelled (they were all hand corrected prior to posting).
I probably wouldn't have noticed. It was the big red "I" that caught my eye.
yes nothing says quality candidate like hand correcting signs all over town. seems indicative of the "will fix that later" mentality that we are hoping to move away from, right? why not do it right the first time? especially -- why advertise that one can't proofread. mr brannum we have a word for that on the internet: FAIL.
I don't know the details of how DC works, but is he really running for the DC State Board of Education? It seems weird to be the "state" board. Or is it one of those political naming decisions to draw attention that DC isn't a state?
And people wonder why DC public schools are in such a deplorable state....
I find it more disturbing that someone at the campaign, and by extension I have to assume Brannum himself, found it to be okay to hand correct the signs and STILL post them anyways!!!
That is unbelievably amateurish and totally unprofessional.
Awful, just awful.
Awful, indeed. However the other candidate went totally for the mono-syllabic wording (Oops, sorry, big words.)
Mr. Brannum, your opponent (the other guy) only used "little words" so you get purple ink and a "Nice job!" for challenging yourself to do the most difficultiest stuff. You'll do better next time, I just know it! Just because you did, I hope we didn't make you "feel" like you failed. That's how it's done these days, right?
DC is a colony.
Taxation without representation.
To be against statehood is racist and elitist. Own up to it. Change. Support democracy.

Let's face facts. If you aren't a black life-long DC resident, you're racist.
